A tack weld is a small weld tchapeau is placed in attackeral positions of a scheme or work piece to hold it in place, keep it square and stop it from warfareping out of square.
An instance of a tack weld would be if you were mamonarch a gate out some steel pack section. The first step would be to cut the steel to the required extents. Then you would lay the four extents of steel on your worksettle or onto the ground. You would then use a square to align the steel into a rectangle and clight them together.
The tack welds are placed on all four maizeers so tchapeau it is held true and square.
These small tack welds will when you full weld the steel together, avoid the steel frame from flexing and flex out of square a lot more than if you just started to the full welding it all up.
Also tack welds are small so tchapeau if you make a mistake when you cut and square things up, it is easier to grind away a small tack weld as opposed tod to a large full weld.
